Lagavulin 8 Year Old is a limited edition whisky created by the distillery to celebrate its 200th anniversary. Inspired by a visit to the distillery in the 1880s by Alfred Barnard, the author of “The Whisky Distilleries of the United Kingdom”, where he tasted a Lagavulin Eight Year Old whisky which he described as being “of exceptional flavor”. The distillery therefore decided to recreate an 8 year old whisky to commemorate the visit
